Welcome to Lines! We're excited to help you memorize your lyrics. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lines iOS application (the "App") and any related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Devinitve - Kacper Kapuściak ("Lines," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, downloading, or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy (available at https://getlines.app/privacy-policy), which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Service.

1. The Service

Lines is an application designed to help you memorize lyrics and other text ("User Content") using various practice methods. The Service allows you to add, store, and organize your User Content, practice memorization, track your progress, and sync your data to the cloud.

2. User Accounts

Account Creation: To use many features of the Service, including cloud sync, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep this information up to date.

Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activities or actions that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. This action is irreversible and will result in the permanent deletion of your account and all associated User Content from our systems.

3. Your Content in Our Services

This section clarifies the ownership and permissions related to the lyrics and text you add to the App.

3.1. You Retain Ownership of Your Content

You retain any intellectual property rights (including copyright) that you have in the content you upload, submit, or store in Lines ("User Content"). What's yours stays yours. We do not claim ownership of any of your User Content.

3.2. The Limited License You Grant to Lines

By using the Service, you grant Lines a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and process your User Content.

This license is for the limited and sole purpose of operating, improving, and providing the Service. For example, this license allows us to:

  • Host and store your lyrics on our servers (e.g., Supabase) so you can access them.
  • Back up your content to prevent data loss.
  • Reproduce and display your content on your devices.
  • Modify your content to, for example, format it for our practice modes or process it through our "AI-Powered Chunking" feature (see Section 4).

This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account.

3.3. Your Responsibility for Your Content

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that you have all the necessary rights to your User Content and that your content is lawful.

Lyrics are often protected by copyright. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any lyrics within the App for your personal memorization complies with all applicable copyright laws. You must make sure you have the necessary rights to store and use the content you add to Lines.

3.4. Copyright Infringement & Takedown Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same.

We may review User Content to determine if it is illegal or violates our policies, and we may remove or refuse to display content that we reasonably believe violates our policies or the law.

We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law, such as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If we receive a valid copyright complaint, we may take action, which can include removing or restricting access to the allegedly infringing content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of copyright.

3.5. Feedback

You retain no obligation to furnish, nor shall Lines be compelled to accept, any ideas, suggestions, or proposals ("Feedback").

Notwithstanding the foregoing, should you elect to transmit or submit such Feedback to Lines, you shall be deemed to have granted, and hereby grant, Lines a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, fully paid-up, and royalty-free license.

This license is irrevocable, sub-licensable, and transferable, and includes the right to:

  • Make, use, sell, and have made the Feedback.
  • Offer to sell, import, reproduce, and distribute the Feedback.
  • Modify, publicly display, or publicly perform the Feedback in any manner or medium, whether now known or hereafter developed.

Such grant of license shall be without any obligation, payment of royalty, or restriction predicated upon intellectual property rights or otherwise.

4. AI Features

The Service includes features like "AI-Powered Chunking," which use artificial intelligence to process your User Content. By using these features, you acknowledge that this processing falls under the limited license you grant us in Section 3.2, as it is a core part of operating and providing the Service to you.

5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Free Trial

Lines offers optional paid "Premium Features" through subscriptions (Monthly, Annual).

Free Trial: We offer a 14-day free trial for new users. At the end of the trial period, your trial will automatically convert to a paid, auto-renewing subscription (based on your selection) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Billing and Payments: All payments are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to the Apple App Store's terms and conditions.

Automatic Renewal: Monthly and Annual subscriptions will automatically renew unless you cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

How to Cancel: You must cancel your subscription or trial through your Apple ID Account Settings. Deleting the App or your Lines account will not cancel your subscription.

Refunds: All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or as permitted by the Apple App Store's policies.

6. License to Use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Lines grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use the App on a single iOS device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Lines.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to do any of the following:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any law.
  • Upload, store, or use any User Content that infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights (including copyright, trademark, or patent rights).
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover the source code of the App.
  • Sell, rent, lease, or redistribute the App.
  • Overburden or disrupt our servers or networks.

8. Privacy and Data Analytics

Our Privacy Policy (https://getlines.app/privacy-policy) details how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, including information on our use of analytics (like PostHog) and your ability to opt out.

9. Termination

Termination by You: You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting your account from within the App's settings.

Termination by Us: We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms (including by repeatedly infringing copyright).

Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately, and your User Content will be irreversibly deleted. Sections 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of these Terms will survive termination.

10. Disclaimers and No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. LINES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE AI FEATURES WILL BE ACCURATE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LINES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, OR GOODWILL, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR USER CONTENT.

12. General Terms

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms: We reserve the right to modify these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you (e.g., by an in-app notification). Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
